Surfaces
4 Surface Types in This Group
Can MOSFLEX™ be used on marble, granite and tiles?
Yes. MOSFLEX™ is developed for marble, granite, ceramic tiles and porcelain tiles. Protecting the face while the wet trades are working means grout haze, bedding mortar and cement residue leave with the film — so the aggressive acid wash or abrasive clean that normally follows tiling is not needed.
This matters most on porous and polished stone, where cement staining can penetrate rather than sit on the surface.
Marble
Porous and acid-sensitive; staining can penetrate rather than sit on the surface.
Granite
Polished finishes that dull quickly under cement film and abrasive dust.
Ceramic Tiles
Glazed faces that hold grout haze if it is not removed promptly.
Porcelain Tiles
Large-format panels handled repeatedly during setting out and installation.
The Problem
What Damages Stone & Ceramic
Stone and tile are usually cleaned aggressively after installation — acid washes and abrasive pads that themselves damage polished and porous surfaces. Protecting the face while the wet trades are working means the aggressive clean is never needed: the residue leaves with the film.
Grout drying on the tile face is the single most common finishing complaint on tiled work.
Bedding materials squeeze out onto the face and set hard.
On porous stone such as marble, cement residue can leave a permanent mark.
Installed floors take site traffic long before the building is finished.
The Approach
How MOSFLEX™ Is Used Here
Apply after the finish is complete
Coat the surface once it has reached its final condition — by brush, roller or airless spray — so the film protects a finished face, not an unfinished one.
Leave it through the following trades
The cured film takes the dirt, splashes and light abrasion generated by the work happening around it.
Peel at handover
Remove the film in one piece as part of your handover sequence. The surface underneath is preserved and the cleaning requirement is reduced.
Trial before you commit
Finishes within this group vary between suppliers. Always confirm adhesion and clean removal on a trial area of the actual surface before full application. Read the full application guide.
